If you’ve made the decision to opt for breast enlargement surgery then you should have received a lot of information from your chosen clinic but there are a few general tips to help prepare for you for your surgery.
Your surgeon at the breast enlargement clinic will go through these with you prior to the surgery and will also cover any other specific instructions that they will want you to follow taking into consideration any individual requirements you may have. To help you mentally prepare and feel ready for the operation, check out the tips below...
Avoid drinking alcohol a few days prior to your surgery and if you’re a smoker then it’s important for you to cut down or stop before your operation and during your recovery period. This can be a tough habit to kick so if you need advice then you can get help and support from the NHS for this.
It’s always important to eat a healthy, balanced diet and take regular exercise and you should be doing this before your operation. Vigorous exercise such as heavy lifting should be avoided during the days leading up to your operation.
Your surgeon should be aware of any prescription drugs that you take and they will give you advice on how to manage these but if you take over the counter medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen then you might be advised to refrain from taking these leading up to the surgery. It’s vitally important that you discuss medication with your surgeon some weeks before the operation so that you have a plan in place for how to take your medication and so that your surgeon is aware.
On the day before your surgery, refrain from eating or drinking anything after midnight.
Make sure that you have someone to take you to and from the breast enlargement clinic. You will require some assistance following the operation so be sure to make arrangements with a family member or friend.
