Breast Enlargement Information - How to Prepare Yourself for Surgery

Surgery Instructions

Avoid Alcohol

Avoid drinking alcohol a few days prior to your surgery and if you’re a smoker then it’s important for you to cut down or stop before your operation and during your recovery period. This can be a tough habit to kick so if you need advice then you can get help and support from the NHS for this.

Eat & Live Healthy

It’s always important to eat a healthy, balanced diet and take regular exercise and you should be doing this before your operation. Vigorous exercise such as heavy lifting should be avoided during the days leading up to your operation.

Prescription Drugs

Your surgeon should be aware of any prescription drugs that you take and they will give you advice on how to manage these but if you take over the counter medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen then you might be advised to refrain from taking these leading up to the surgery. It’s vitally important that you discuss medication with your surgeon some weeks before the operation so that you have a plan in place for how to take your medication and so that your surgeon is aware.

Day Before Surgery

On the day before your surgery, refrain from eating or drinking anything after midnight.

Friends & Family Help

Make sure that you have someone to take you to and from the breast enlargement clinic. You will require some assistance following the operation so be sure to make arrangements with a family member or friend.
