Plastic Consultant, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon

Stephen McCulleyYour body, your choices

Reputable and proven expertise in Nottingham serving the East Midlands
and the UK

If you've found your way to my website I imagine that you're considering the possibility of having cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. If that's the case, whether you are thinking of having a facelift, eyelid surgery, a rhinoplasty, breast enlargement, breast reduction, an abdominoplasty, liposuction or Injectable Wrinkle Treatments you'll naturally have very personal reasons for your decision, reasons that are unique to you.

As a fully qualified Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon working in both the NHS and private practice, I can provide you with practical, realistic advice on the kind of treatments that are available to you and some of the other factors you may need to bear in mind, such as the benefits and the risks involved in different procedures, the length of time it may take you to recover and the costs involved.

Cosmetic or reconstructive surgery can be incredibly life changing in the most positive of ways, not only physically, but emotionally too, be it restoring or transforming an aspect of yourself that you've always wanted to change.

As the popularity and providers of cosmetic surgery grow, decisions of which surgeon or which procedure to choose cannot be taken lightly, so it's becoming more important than ever to take the time to find out more about your choices, and which option is best for you. Unfortunately, there are an increasing number of companies out there offering cosmetic surgery, who are not qualified surgeons themselves, and the surgeons they use may not necessarily be fully qualified either. You should never be given the 'hard sell' or be made to feel as if you're being pushed into a decision.

I'd strongly advise you to make sure that your cosmetic surgeon is registered on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register. You can check this on the General Medical Council's website by visiting www.gmc-uk.org or by telephoning 020 7580 7642. Ideally they will be members of the Royal College Associations BAPRAS and BAAPS and hold the FRCS(Plast) qualification. This is the best way to make sure you choose a safe, reputable and responsible cosmetic or reconstructive surgeon.

In addition you should also be given plenty of relevant information, rather than sales literature, and your consultation should be with the surgeon who will actually carry out your treatment.

I hope you find the information on my website helpful and please do not hesitate to get in touch if there's anything else you'd like to know or you'd like to discuss your options further.
